where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.

Yes, I live and breathe. And hope.

Some housekeeping items: J's job is suiting her quite well and she calls every afternoon with happy tales. She likes the work, the people, the facility (which has a subsidized, chef-run cafeteria, a walking track outdoors around soccer fields, a break room with internet access and numerous computers.) She has received her first paycheck. I like that one myself.
I have alerted all my outlets that I am no longer in the berry/flower/asparagus/tomato growing business. Yes, I say it in print. I Am Retired from what little I still did. The burden of these last obligations far outweighed any satisfaction I received. Now T is going to build that walled garden for me, and I can concentrate on just what I want.
First thing, I'm designing a Shakespeare Garden.
I have, shock!, another post in my mind, which I will write. I will!
Someone asked me in an email to name the books that have changed my life. I felt a little nervous answering her, thinking I most surely had to come up with something intellectually defensible, something to underscore my elevated thinking. But the titles I determined as most meaningful were...other than that, and later today, I'll tell you why and what happened.

There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place

Nice how the security of one's offspring allows other plans to proceed.
I didn't read the whole wikipedia thing, just trust if you're doing it, the outcome will be quite the beautiful place it is meant to be. You may have retired but you and the earth will never be separated.
When T finishes your garden project, will he come and do one here for me? You come, too, and we'll supervise and furnish beverages and sustenance.
I love the whole idea. When it's finished you can do weddings there and make a little on the side. And when J gets married...
I look forward to photos of the garden when it is complete - and when it is in progress, too.
It is so good to hear from you. I'm so happy for Jenny. I hope this job will continue to be what she wants and loves. The benefits thrown in there sound great.
And you...I'm glad you're getting on with the things that you want to do.
Congratulations to Jenny on the new job! And the garden.... yes, please come to the beach and fix ours!
Nyssa has been on her own for almost two months now and except for a case of food poisoning and getting in the path of a hurricane and tropical storm.... on purpose of course... so far, so good.
Hi, AC,
It's been almost a month. Are you still in the land of the living?
I don't know if you're watching baseball or not, but the Tampa Bay Rays are beating up on the Red Sox. I hope that they win that one last game.
I'm not going to post any more till you do.
Okay, I wasn't anyway; that's beside the point. You have things to talk about. The canning is done, the garden is, whatever they do with them, in the Fall. How's life on those Green Acres?
Hooray, hooray for the Rays. They had me worried after blowing that game the other night with the 7-0 lead. In fact last night, I turned away every time the Red Sox were up at bat.
It has been a bunch of fun watching them this year. Thanks ofr your support! I really hope they show up to play and win! Good to hear from you.
And Penn State is hot too. I'll really have a meltdown when this season is over. I told David the other day that I've been on such a high...it doesn't take much to excite me, and then I have to realize that there are many more important things in life than sports...but I do enjoy them.
Where are you, dear heart? How do your personal gardens grow? Is that wall up yet? The boxwood hedge? Update if and when the spirit moves you.
Please promise that you'll post pics of the garden -- can't wait to see how it turns out!
Yay Jenny! All growed up and stuff.
